About me

I’m Giona Fossati, a passionate UX Designer with a strong international attitude. Although I’ve been raised in Italy, I like to define myself as European! 🇪🇺

Technology allowed for my personal and professional growth. My ambition is now to share these benefits with those who are less affected by technological advancements and make technology accessible.

My Academic Background

My academic path focuses on the intersection of UX Design, Cognitive Science, and Accessibility and Inclusive Design.

I obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Interfaces and Technologies of Communication at the University of Trento, Italy.

I have a Double MSc Degree in Human-Computer Interaction and Design from the University of Paris-Sud and Polytechnic of Madrid. My Master's Course focused on developing specialized design skills and complementing them with business development knowledge.

My Experience

I have been in the industry for some years now:

My Present

I'm currently based in Madrid, Spain and I am working as a freelance UX/UI designer for various clients.

I am Pragmatic

I believe that the best products are born through the contamination of ideas between engineering, business, and design.

i am Curious

My knowledge ranges from coding to project management. I keep learning by attending workshops and following online courses from the Interaction Design Foundation.

i love to be proved wrong

I see critics as a way to learn and improve. The best ideas are the ones that are proven to work better, without regard to who had them.

i think communication is key

Aligning clients and designer’s views is key: that's why my Bachelor thesis – based on the book Articulating
Design Decisions di Tom Greever – focused on effectively communicating design decisions to stakeholders.

Synthesis of findings and ideation of new features delight me: paper prototyping and wireframing are my strengths.
